Afterword
After a whole year, Shen Yin Wang Zuo's finally been completed. When I wrote the final full stop, I immediately felt relieved, like a huge burden had been lifted from my shoulders, but my face was also covered with tears. A world that I had single-handedly created had just ended like this.
I'm also reluctant to part with Elux, reluctant to part with Fengxiu, reluctant to part with every single character I wrote. However, any story has to come to an end. Perhaps everyone will remember a half-tragic, half-positive ending better. Seeing how everyone liked Shen Yin Wang Zuo, I feel that it was worth it. If you like old Elux, then you'll see him appear in the new book, Unrivalled Tang Sect. As for the circumstances he'll appear in, that's for you to find out.
As for Fengxiu, he belongs to Shen Yin Wang Zuo. I don't want to take him away. As the God Emperor of his generation, he still found that it was more important to find his most beloved. I don't want to disturb him any further. Just let him leave while he's submerged in his happiness. I believe we will all remember him forever.
It's possible to say that Shen Yin Wang Zuo's the book which I've spent the most amount of effort on, as well as the book with an overall plot that I'm most satisfied with. From setting it up in the beginning, and then demonstrating what I had set up one by one afterwards. The battle between the Temple Alliance and the seventy-two demon gods also hides the two subplots, Long Haochen's ancestry and Haoyue, that indirectly affects the entire background of the story. Probably very few of you guessed that the final boss was not the Demon God Emperor, but the God of Heavenly Wrath Austin Griffin. From the beginning to the end, I was afraid of dropping my guard even by the slightest and accidentally revealing this.
Perhaps Shen Yin Wang Zuo's setting isn't as magnificent as Douluo Dalu or Heavenly Jewel Change, but in terms of the plot, it's the book that I've spent the most amount of time on. The more simple the setting is, the more the details and the richer the plot needs to be in order to make up for this. I can't say that I've done my best, but I have done everything I can.
It's been one year and a full-length novel of two million and six hundred thousand characters has come to an end. I spent an entire year of painstaking effort in writing this, and there has also been a large number of readers who had followed Shen Yin Wang Zuo for the year. I wonder how everyone feels after reading the finale.
Here, I must thank every single reader for their support over the past year. I am unable to return this kindness. All I can do is create more and better works in gratitude.
As you all know, my fans are known as the Tang Sect, while I am the sect master of the Tang Sect. Every year, with every work I write, a portion of our Tang Sect siblings would leave, while a new wave of readers would join. Whenever I see new people join, I feel extremely happy, but whenever I see readers leave, I become filled with regret and reluctance to see them go.
Shen Yin Wang Zuo's over. We need to look forward. Readers who are familiar with me will know that I don't pause between works. My novels have always continued one after another without a gap. As a result, my new novel will be presented before you all very soon. It's possible to say that I'm entirely writing this novel for the Tang Sect, for all the readers who had supported me over all these years. I hope that the readers who support me can keep following me, while I'll be waiting for the companions who had already left to return. I'll be waiting for you to return home.
In my almost nine years of writing, my most popular and most well-received work is Douluo Dalu. Especially after the manhua began serialising, it's drawn in even more Douluo Dalu fans. As a result, readers have been calling out a very long time ago that they hope to see a Douluo Dalu II. At the same time, there are a few illegal fakes that pose as the sequel to Douluo Dalu, or use the name of Douluo Dalu II to trick people.
In my personal opinion, I was originally reluctant to write a sequel, because I still have many new ideas that I could use to write. My inspiration has yet to dry up. However, it's different this time. For the sake of my siblings of the Tang Sect, I am willing to write for the Tang Sect. As a result, when my new book is launched, it will be called Douluo Dalu II: Unrivalled Tang Sect. I'll make your Douluo Dalu dream come true.
I only have one wish. I hope that the brothers and sisters of the Tang Sect who had once left will all return. I hope the sequel to Douluo Dalu can be the bus that picks you up and drops you back. The Unrivalled Tang Sect will become the home of all of our siblings from the Tang Sect. I will use unprecedented physical and mental efforts to write this novel into a grand, majestic full-scale novel, gathering the popularity of our Tang Sect so that the readers who had once joined the Tang Sect, had already joined the Tang Sect or are joining the Tang Sect can come home. The Tang Sect will always be your home. Its gates will always be open to you.
The name, Unrivalled Tang Sect, comes from the readers as well. That's the name of the first theme created by the readers of our Tang Sect.
In this new novel, the background and setting will follow Douluo Dalu, but also have additional elements. They're only additional, not different. The setting will be even richer, while the plot will be even more fascinating.
Think about it. What would the Douluo Dalu after ten thousand years be like?
Do you still remember the Tang Sect? Do you still remember Shrek Academy? Do you still remember the wondrous martial souls, soul skills, soul rings and soul bones? All of that will appear once more.
Douluo Dalu II: Unrivalled Tang Sect will show everyone a brand new Douluo Dalu World. The million-year soul beasts that never appeared in Douluo Dalu will formally appear in Unrivalled Tang Sect, and so will the intelligent soul rings. There will also be brand new soul tools. The Holy Necromancer, Slumbering Calamity Elux beloved by readers in Shen Yin Wang Zuo will make an appearance in a special manner in the Unrivalled Tang Sect as well. Can our new main character return the declining Tang Sect to its former glory? That'll all unfold one by one in the Unrivalled Tang Sect.
Many readers have asked me how to join the Tang Sect. It's actually very simple. From the moment you read Tang Sect, you've already become a part of the Tang Sect. This sect master formally announces that Douluo Dalu II: Unrivalled Tang Sect has begun.
Next week, let's charge up the rankings together! Let's make the Unrivalled Tang Sect that the throne of number one for clicks and recommendations!
Translator's Afterword
Wow, my first one despite translating for over 4 years now.
That's that. That's Shen Yin Wang Zuo to the end. I actually picked up the translations in November 2019, and finished them at the start of January 2020. However, it took be forever to post because it was purely a volunteer project, so I didn't have anyone edit the chapters. I originally planned on going through the chapters one by one after my exams in July, but guess that's not going to happen if I still want SYWZ complete with totobro's past chapters on Gravity Tales, considering the site is going down in a week. So yes, unfortunately most of the chapters are unedited, but they are what they are. I do hope you enjoyed them.
If you like my translations, you are welcome to check out my other words, Chaotic Sword God and Legend of the Great Sage!
Also, please check out the Unrivalled Tang Sect translated over at Wuxiaworld by my friend Sean. He's actually finished a few months ago, so get to it while it's still fresh out of the oven! Do note that while Elux does appear in the Unrivalled Tang Sect, the translator for that novel has decided to translate his name as Electrolux instead of Elux.
